Days 7 to 9: Harsil
2 nights · Easy · A quiet village on the Bhagirathi river, on the road to Gangotri, set among deodar and apples.
Day 7: Arrival day
- Travel from Kanatal to Harsil (about 6 to 7 hours).
- Walk along the Bhagirathi riverside and the apple orchards.
- Walk about 1.5 km to Bagori village and back before dark.
Day 8: Harsil
- Leave early by taxi for Gangotri temple.
- On the way back stop at Bhaironghati and walk about 2 km to Gartang Gali.
- If the road is open and safe, pause at Dharali.
- Return to Harsil for the night.
Day 9: Harsil
- Visit Mukhba village and its Ganga temples in the morning.
- Start the drive back towards Uttarkashi.
- Stop at the Gangnani hot spring on the way.
Afterwards: Harsil to Dehradun is about 7 to 8 hours by road.
