Day 1
- Arrive and check in near the town centre.
- Visit Brihadeeswarar Temple in the late afternoon.
- Stay for the evening light and the lamps.
- Walk over to Schwartz Church if time allows.
3 days in Thanjavur
One day for the Big Temple, one for the palace complex, and one day trip to the other Chola temples.
Day 2
- Morning at the Thanjavur Maratha Palace and bell tower.
- See Thanjavur Art Gallery in the palace complex.
- Visit Saraswathi Mahal Library (closed Wednesdays).
- Revisit Brihadeeswarar Temple at sunrise or sunset for photos.
Day 3
- Leave before 8 am by cab.
- Visit Airavatesvara Temple at Darasuram.
- Stop at Swamimalai Murugan Temple.
- Continue to Gangaikonda Cholapuram and return to Thanjavur.
