Itineraries

3 days in the Rann of Kutch

Bhuj palaces and the White Rann sunset, then Kalo Dungar, then the Road to Heaven and Dholavira.

Day 1

  • Arrive in Bhuj and visit Aina Mahal and Prag Mahal in the morning session.
  • Drive towards Dhordo and collect the permit at the Bhirandiyara checkpost.
  • Stop at Hodka village to see the bhungas and crafts.
  • Walk out on the White Rann at Dhordo for sunset.

Day 2

  • Return to the White Rann at Dhordo for sunrise.
  • Rest through the hot midday hours.
  • Drive to Kalo Dungar in the afternoon for the view over the Rann.
  • Stay for the jackal feeding at the temple around sunset, then return to Dhordo.

Day 3

  • Leave early with a full tank and drive via Khavda to the Road to Heaven.
  • Stop on the causeway for photos and birdlife.
  • Visit the Dholavira site and museum.
  • Drive back to Bhuj for the onward train or flight.
