Accessibility

Seniors
Suitable, but the main temple sits on a rise reached by 50 or more steps and the ghat is down 56 steps. Visit early to avoid crowds.
Children
Suitable; Shivrajpur beach is described as good for families and children.
Wheelchair users
The steps at the temple and ghat make access hard.

Unless a sight is described as accessible, assume it is not step-free.

Culture and responsible travel

  • Wear modest clothing in temples: full-length trousers or dhotis for men, sarees, salwar suits or clothes covering shoulders and knees for women.
  • Photography is not allowed inside the Dwarkadhish Temple; leave phones and cameras in lockers.
  • Check darshan and aarti times before going, as temples close in the afternoon.
  • Shivrajpur is a Blue Flag beach; carry your litter out and keep it clean.

What to pack

  • Photo ID (Aadhaar, passport or driving licence); hotels and permits ask for it
  • Sunscreen, a hat, swimwear and sandals
  • Clothes that cover shoulders and knees, and socks for hot stone floors where shoes come off. Some temples do not allow phones or bags, so carry little
