Day 1
- Arrive and check in near Charring Cross.
- Walk the Government Botanical Garden, best before the crowds build.
- Spend the afternoon boating at Ooty Lake.
- End the day at the Government Rose Garden for the view over town.
3 days in Ooty
Town gardens and the lake first, then the Doddabetta and Pykara side, and a toy train day trip to Coonoor.
Day 2
- Go early to Doddabetta Peak for clear views.
- Stop at the Tea Museum and Tea Factory on the way down.
- Drive about 20 km to Pykara Lake and Falls for boating and the short ride to the falls.
- Return to town by evening.
Day 3
- Take the Nilgiri Mountain Railway from Ooty to Coonoor.
- Visit Sim's Park in Coonoor.
- Return to Ooty by bus or taxi, or continue down to Mettupalayam for the onward journey.
